Tensor-network methods and lattice field theory

In this research programme, we study the application of tensor-network methods to lattice field theory.

  • Massive Thirring model in 1+1 dimensions from matrix product states
  • We apply the method of the matrix product states to the research on the massive Thirring model in 1+1 dimensions. In this project, our preliminary results show that this approach can be employed to investigate the non-thermal phase structure of the model. We have found numerical evidence for a Kosterlitz-Thouless (K-T) phase transition. In addition to probing the phase structure in greater detail using this method, we are studying the real-time dynamics of this K-T transition.
